On October 1st, the Trustee Board made the decision to strengthen Mentell’s leadership by appointing Co-Founder Andy Walker and Head of Operations Stewart Humphries as Joint Directors of the charity.

Together, Andy and Stewart bring more than 20 years of combined experience in the charity sector, including over a decade dedicated to Mentell’s growth and impact. Their complementary expertise in fundraising, strategy, and operations provides a strong foundation to guide Mentell into its next chapter.

This joint leadership structure ensures continuity of vision while energising the organisation with renewed focus and stability. The Board has full confidence that Andy and Stewart’s proven commitment and experience will drive Mentell forward, building on the progress already made and strengthening our mission to support men across the UK.

"Since joining Mentell, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Andy’s passion and commitment to Mentell up close, and it’s been truly inspiring. His belief in what we do and the men we serve is infectious, the opportunity to step forward alongside him in co-leadership is one I’m incredibly excited about.

While Andy and I bring different strengths, our shared vision is the same: to see Mentell grow, thrive, and continue to honour every man who finds the courage to walk into one of our Circles. I’m particularly looking forward to focusing on strengthening our operations and working closely with our community team to shine a light on the amazing work happening week in, week out. "Having had the privilege of supporting Mentell in different capacities over the years, the opportunity to step back into leadership alongside Stewart was one I couldn’t pass up. In our circles, co-facilitators work together to reduce blind spots, prevent burnout, and keep the focus firmly on the men in the room. Using a similar model in leadership is a game-changer for our charity. Since Stewart joined Mentell, I’ve seen his dedication and professionalism first hand, and I’m genuinely excited about the prospect of co-leading the charity with him. Together, we can each play to our strengths while jointly guiding strategy and working closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure Mentell continues to grow and thrive.

Our commitment to our members, volunteers and staff is that we will never lose sight of our roots - the reason this charity exists in the first place... to honour that nervous new member who walks through the door on a weeknight and is met with warmth, acceptance, and the safe space to find his own answers."
