Male veterans – and many men in general – often struggle in silence. They can feel isolated, stuck, and without anyone they can truly talk to. Someone who understands what it feels like to go through hard times.
At Mentell, we recognise that veterans bring a wealth of valuable life experience and skills that can have a powerful impact on others – especially men who are currently struggling. Qualities like determination, discipline, resilience, selflessness and teamwork are needed now more than ever in communities across the UK.
That’s why Mentell is running a free programme dedicated to male veterans, proudly supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.
This 7-month programme is designed to help veterans reconnect with their life skills and support other men simply by listening. You don’t need to be a therapist – just someone willing to show up, offer an ear, and share what you’ve learned through life and service.
Along the way, you’ll receive professional training and mentorship to become a community facilitator. The journey ends with a powerful residential retreat – but the impact you’ll have can last a lifetime.
Mentell is a men's mental health charity, providing free, weekly groups for men age 18+ to talk. Our groups are safe and confidential spaces, free from advice and judgement. Attend a Mentell circle and experience it first hand by signing up for more information.
